The Air Force has multiple AFROTC scholarship opportunities for students pursuing their undergraduate degree. 

*Note: all AFROTC scholarships can be converted into a maximum of $10,000/year housing benefit. However, the student must live in campus housing.

High School Scholarship Program (HSSP)

  • FULL Tuition and authorized fees at any public or private institution
  • $300-$500 monthly stipend
  • $900 textbook allowance per year
  • Initial travel expenses to university paid

Basic Requirements

  • Be a U.S. citizen by scholarship activation
  • Be at least 17 years old by scholarship activation
  • No previous full-time college experience

Minimum Academic Requirements

  • GPA: 3.0 unweighted by end of junior year
  • SAT: 1240 OR ACT: 26 (Super scoring of SAT/ACT not permitted)

In-College Scholarship Program (ICSP)

There is no formal application for ICSP. Awarded based on cadets’ leadership & overall performance in the ROTC program. 

Academic Requirements

  • Successful completion of freshman year
  • Minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA

Type 1: FULL college tuition at any public or private institution

Type 2: Up to $18,000 per year in tuition at any public or private institution

**Both Type 1 & Type 2 include monthly stipends of $300-$500, plus a $900 book allowance per year.

Brig. Gen. McGee Leadership Award

Up to $18,000 tuition or $10,000 housing assistance per year to any cadet not already on scholarship who has completed field training & entering their junior year.

Det 440-specific Programs

We offer several awards up to $1,000 per academic year. Please speak with financial aid at your home institution for more opportunities.
